Hoyles Architecture is a new firm based in St. John’s, Newfoundland with a focus on contemporary residential design. We believe that timeless design is informed by place and we aim to create site specific, sustainable spaces that will be enjoyed for generations.

Evan Hoyles
Principal Architect, M.Arch, NLAA
Growing up in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, Evan developed an interest in architecture at a young age while working for his family's construction company. This led him to Dalhousie University, where he graduated with a Masters in Architecture in 2016.
After graduation, Evan remained in Halifax to work with a boutique architecture firm on a wide range of projects across Atlantic Canada. Evan returned to Newfoundland in 2022 to start his own practice and looks forward to contributing to, and improving, the built environment in the province.

Bowie
Lead Barkitect
Originally from Saint Lucia, Bowie joined the firm in 2022. While still acclimatizing to Newfoundland’s unpredictable weather, he has become an invaluable member of the team. Bowie has a passion for large, street facing windows where he can bark at unsuspecting passers-by.
